A post is a timely piece of content that appears in your blog feed. This could be an article, an opinion piece, or a news update.
A page is a static piece of content that usually appears in your site’s navigation menu. This could be an ‘about’ page, a people profile, or some contact details.
Creating new posts and pages
You can create posts and pages if you’re an administrator, editor, author or contributor.
Contributors have to submit their draft for review to an editor or administrator. Learn more about user roles and permissions.
Create a new post
- On the Dashboard, navigate to Posts > Add New
- Give your post a title and add your content using the Visual Editor
- Add your tags and categories
- Preview your content
- When you are happy with the end result, click Publish/Submit.
Create a new page
- On the Dashboard, navigate to Pages > Add New.
- Give your page a title and add your content using the Visual Editor.
- Preview your content.
- When you are happy with the end result, click Publish/Submit.
If your navigation menu is not set to add pages automatically, you may need to do this manually. Find out how to create and manage a custom menu.
Editing posts and pages
As an administrator or editor, you can edit any posts and pages published, or submitted for review by other blog contributors.
As an author, you can edit your own posts and pages, but not those written by others.
