Add guest authors and co-authors

If you have guest authors who contribute on an ad-hoc basis, you can use the Co-Authors Plus Plugin to create posts on their behalf. This is a good way to make sure that the right people receive the right credit for their work.

Sometimes you might need to publish content on behalf of a team, instead of an individual. For example, this page has been published by the Digital Experience team, and the Co-Authors Plus Plugin was used to achieve this.

Guest authors cannot access your site’s dashboard, so administrators are responsible for managing authorship for ad-hoc content.

How to add guest authors and co-authors

Before you start, make sure you have either administrator or author permissions. If you do not have the correct permissions, find someone in your team who can do this for you.

  1. Enable the Co-Authors Plus Plugin in the plug-ins menu
  2. Read and follow the Co-Authors Plus Plugin documentation for step-by-step instructions on creating and managing guest authors and co-authors
