Request a different theme

All blog sites use the University of Bristol (UoB) theme by default. This achieves a consistent look and feel across the platform, that aligns with the University’s branding.

However, there are circumstances when you might need a different aesthetic for your site. Installing different themes requires approval from the Digital Experience team.

When to request a different theme

You need to be a current administrator for your site to make a request via the form.

You can ask for a different theme if your site represents a multi-institution partnership. In these cases, where the University of Bristol branded theme is not appropriate, a different theme will give your site a distinct visual identity.

Externally funded research that’s conducted fully at the University does not qualify for a different theme. Instead, you can add the funder’s logo to the right-side column or footer using widgets.
